About the role

As the Product Compliance Technologist for Accessories, you will be responsible for ensuring that our product development process and procedures are legally compliant, and that we manage product quality and interface with both internal and external customers to a high standard, driving a proactive approach across the business.

As part of the Quality team, you will have responsibility for developing a robust complaints response procedure and will manage its implementation for both food and accessories, including regular monitoring and cascades on performance to the rest of the business. You’ll also work to agreed KPI’s within this field.

You will be the quality champion, ensuring the development and implementation of Quality Management Systems (QMS) for both food and accessories; and these should include the management of the Quality Manual for the business.

You will be responsible for the implementation of a crisis management procedure for the Pets at Home business so that product quality and recall issues are dealt with in a consistent and owned way throughout the business.

About your experience

You will be proficient at audit procedures and able to conduct factory audits independently, detailing appropriate recommendations.

Key experience/attributes required for this role include:

  • Extensive experience of working within audit, compliance or food safety roles
  • CSR knowledge gained through working in a similar role
  • Knowledge of end to end manufacturing from raw materials, through product, packaging, storage and distribution.
  • Knowledge of supplier processes
  • Knowledge of HACCP and product safety management systems.
  • Experience of spreadsheet trackers and project management tools
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work cross-departments to achieve results
  • Team player
  • Able to communicate clear decisions, next steps and accountability
  • Highly organized and able to multi-task
  • Good presentation skills
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to pre-empt barriers to progress
