An exciting vacancy has arisen for a Nursery Room Leader to deliver a consistently high level of service and support to our team and departments on resort.

Overview of the role
Reporting directly to the Nursery Manager, the Room Leader will be responsible for supervising & supporting their team members in the planning, organisation and operation of their rooms.  The Room Leader will be responsible for deputising and being accountable for the running of the Nursery when necessary. The Room Leader will also be responsible for providing a stimulating and varied programme of play alongside the team members, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children at all times and working alongside the Nursery Manager deliver a consistent ‘Parent/Carer/Children’s experience’ & ‘team experience’ whilst delivering the ‘key responsibilities & compliance’ of the Butlin's Little Learners Day Nursery.

Typical working hours: 40 hours per week Mon-Fri between the hours of 8:00am and 6:00pm

Key responsibilities and duties may include:
•Keeping all children safe from harm via monitoring and implementing sufficient safeguarding policies
•Working alongside Nursery Manager to achieve excellent standards within the nursery and deputising in their absence when necessary, taking accountability for running a high-quality Nursery
•Taking responsibility of Health and Safety paperwork with the Nursery Managers support e.g. completing monthly accident stats, ensuring food hygiene paperwork up to date
•Assisting the team in Identifying and planning of individual children’s needs through the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) & working with the Nursery Manager to monitor the effectiveness of the EYFS
•To have a full understanding of the Nursery’s Policies and Procedures and be able to assist in the review and implementation of them all, ensuring that they are adhered to by the team.
•Ensuring all records are properly maintained e.g. daily register, accident and incident records (list not exhaustive)
•To attend relevant training courses and meetings as required
•Working in partnership with families and providers
•Ensuring and overseeing a seamless day to day operation of your rooms
•To oversee all Learning Journals, with support of the Nursery Manager, are continuously updated with observations and next steps and that the planning is completed for key children, supporting the team where needed and ensuring that all aspects are done to a high standard.
•To delegate daily duties to ensure that regular educational and stimulating activities are provided throughout each day, all relevant paperwork is completed to a high standard and on time.


Requirements
•Minimum NVQ level 3 or above
•3+ years’ working experience with children in a nursery setting
•2+ years’ previous team leading experience
•Strong knowledge of the statutory requirements, Safeguarding and EYFS curriculum
•Caring and nurturing attitude towards children
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
