Job title: Senior Programme Support Officer – Medical Pay & Workforce

Location: Leeds with occasional travel to London (currently working from home until further notice), with agile working. Specific arrangements will be discussed on appointment.

Role: Full time, permanent (flexible working considered)

Salary: £27,045 - £29,170

About the role

As a Senior Programme Support Officer within the Medical Pay and Workforce Team designated, you will support the delivery of dedicated programmes related to national negotiations/discussions on the reform of pay and terms and conditions of service for NHS doctors and dentists as well as medical education, quality and standards and medical workforce supply.

You will:

  • engage with employers to identify their views on key policy developments relating to education and training, quality and standards and medical workforce supply
  • assist team members to co-ordinate and provide the secretariat for national negotiations and discussions with trades unions
  • support employers to understand and implement national policy and contractual obligations.

About you

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • Strong experience of supporting formal meetings with multiple stakeholders, including minute taking, agenda planning and drafting papers
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues and external bodies
  • Excellent writing and problem-solving skills and the ability to summarise complex informationin simple language
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Understanding of HR and employment relations issues
