Ambulance Care Assistant NEPTS Car Driver – South East (Cardiff & Vale, Cwm Taff, Aneurin Bevan)

THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 5 MONTHS TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SERVICE

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Welsh Ambulance Service providing support to Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service (NEPTS). The positions will be based in the South East Region.

Successful applicants will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, reassuring and assisting members of the public to attend hospital appointments. These patients will be walking patients and some may need minimal assistance to and from the car to their home or appointment.

You would need to be flexible as the shift pattern will cover a seven day period but no unsocial late hours or nights shifts will be required, This is an opportunity to provide real support to the NHS in the fight against Covid-19 helping the public attend important clinical outpatient appointments. If you are an effective communicator, good at dealing with the public in a stressful or potentially challenging situations, we want to hear from you.

You will need to be 23 years of age and over with no more than 3 points on your driver’s licence. You will also have a driving assessment on the 15TH- 16TH October which will include a test on the highway code, 12 road signs and 5 true or false and 5 multi choice questions.

Telephone interviews will be held between the 11th October and the 13th October, calls will be from an unregistered/unknown number and this will be to determine your suitability for the role, with a start date commencing 8th November 2021. You will be provided with an appropriate level of face to face training and some e-learning for which we will provide the necessary support. Please only apply if you can commit to the start date and attend the driving assessment.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
