The Role

 

·       You will have responsibility for ongoing development and improvements of our Supply Chain Operations technology capabilities (products)

·       The role will be responsible for managing dedicated squad Product Managers to ensure the successful delivery of an integrated Supply Chain Operations product roadmap

·       You are ultimately responsible for the collective success of the squads and delivery of technology supported outcomes for the business

·       The role requires an excellent understanding of the retail market, supply chain processes and systems and the end-to-end customer journey within the wellness market

Plan and strategy:

·       Ensure overall product success through coherency of initiatives of different squads

·       Communicate vision and strategy across the squads, helping to ensure that squads implement this vision into reality

·       Work with Business Unit Leads to develop overall strategies for the products, including new business strategies to improve market effectiveness

·       Lead Exec level workshops to understand ‘North Star KPIs' and business unit roadmap sessions to ensure alignment of product roadmaps across the Supply Chain Operations vertical

·       Analyse the market, regularly conducting pricing, competitive, and profitability analyses

·       Is a key figure in Program Increment (PI) planning sessions with the rest of the Product Management and Engineering teams, articulating the vision for the Supply Chain Operations products, articulating risks and proposing solutions

 

Collaboration and stakeholder management:

Provides squad teams and Product Managers with necessary knowledge to create solutions that are both valuable and viable:

·       Organise and promote cross-department collaboration, building stable processes and ensuring that we are leveraging all the information available (collaboration with user research & insights team, collaboration with data science team etc.) to deliver the best possible Supply Chain Operations solutions

·       Provide expert knowledge of business constraints (from marketing, sales, service, finance, legal, and privacy etc.) and equip squad teams with deep knowledge of users and customers

·       Ensures necessary resources and tools are available for effective development within squads

·       Manage conflicts and dependencies across the squads and problem solve with Directors of Engineering, Engineers, Product Managers and Business Leads. They act as a point of escalation as needed

·       Educate stakeholders and help to set best in class product development processes across the organisation

·       Promotes a best-in-class product culture and help to set corresponding processes across the teams, helping each team member to grow and develop

 

Product launch:

·       Responsible for the company wide go to market strategy for the overall Supply Chain Operations product, managing conflicts and dependencies between the vertical squads and horizontal squads as needed

·       Responsible for timely delivery, working with the Directors of Engineering and squad Product Managers to communicate outcomes and progress against KPIs to business leaders

 

Communication:

·       Create productive relationships within squads, empowering team members to maintain team momentum

·       Create productive relationship with business teams and business unit leaders, providing them with transparency and clear communication on progress

·       Manage inter-departmental relationships as needed – the role is the most senior/key point of contact within the Supply Chain Operations vertical for the business and manages stakeholders accordingly

 

We offer a flexible, home-based working model. We have offices in Nuneaton and London, but you will not be required to be office-based.

The Person

Product Management and technical expertise:

·       8+ years product management experience (or equivalent)

·       Responsible for managing 10+ product cases previously, including launching of a new product in the market, scaling a product and improving the user journey journey

·       Experience in development of product strategy and work though iterations, proven ability to work with MVP approach

·       Good understanding of technology and ability to understand technology concepts quickly

·       Good understanding supply chain operations and fulfilment processes

 

Management:

·       Strong understanding and experience in agile project management methodologies

·       Proven ability to engage with engineers, designers, and company leaders in a constructive and collaborative relationship

·       Experience of being a line manager with direct reports previously

 

Communication:

·       Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate with various types of senior stakeholders from engineers to business executives

·       Demonstrated ability to learn multiple functional areas of business – engineering, design, finance, sales, or marketing

·       Excellent influencing, persuasion and presentation skills – able to interact with business unit leaders and executives, can clearly communicate visions and influence as needed

 

Strategic thinking and customer insight:

·       Excellent end-to-end understanding of the retail business model, business strategy, ROI, key financial levers within the business unit

·       Excellent understanding of market practices, trends and consumer behavior and emerging revenue streams

·       Strong experience in using insights via focus groups, usability, surveys, behavioral data, and A/B testing

 

Problem solving

·       Very able to propose solutions to difficult problems with many constraints, using sound judgement to assess risks, and to layout arguments in a well-structured, data-informed, written narrative

 

Experience in digital transformation and the ability to proactively contribute to a product organization and culture is highly beneficial.
