About The Role
We’ve got a fantastic job for a Technical Manager - Health & Safety, Stores to cover the South region on a 6 month contract.

Supporting the Head of Group Health and Safety to uphold the Health & Safety and legality of our Brand across our whole business, Stores. You will ensure continuous improvement and implement best practice to keep colleagues & customers safe. 

You’ll work with internal and external stakeholders to meet these objectives and drive improvements in Health & Safety culture and compliance, focusing heavily on Fire Safety. The consequences of failure could result in customer or colleague harm or even death, which may have a secondary impact of unlimited fines, adverse publicity and serious damage to the brand.

A key responsibility in this role will be Fire Risk Assessments across stores in the South and therefore maintaining H&S and Fire Safety Standards across our stores through the risk assessments, guidance, advise and support.

This is a field based position, it would be preferable that applicants reside in the South East/West

Knowledge Required:

Degree in Health & Safety, a science or closely related subject NEBOSH diploma (desirable)
Member of relevant professional organisation (IOSH) & undertaking CPD
In-depth knowledge and understanding of the Health & Safety management systems including Fire.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety and related legislation and its requirements
About You
Skills Required:

The ability to engage with colleagues at all levels to drive improvements
Ability to influence business decisions that impact on Health & Safety and legality
The ability to champion the customer and retain a customer focus whilst keeping Health & Safety at the forefront
Ability to identify risk and prioritise tasks
Tenacity to follow up and resolve issues
Analytical thinking

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years experience in Health & Safety/Fire Safety management 
Experience working in a complex organisation with multiple Stakeholders
Experience working in in Retail 
Fire Risk Assessment Experience

Auditing experience
Incident investigation and management
