Battersea Bookshop sales positions

Stanfords the specialist travel and map bookshop located in Covent Garden will open Battersea Bookshop in the Battersea Power Station on 14th October 2022. This will be a generalist neighbourhood bookshop. We are one of the last remaining independent book retailers in the UK trading since 1853. We are looking for full time and part time sales advisors also shift supervisors and an assistant manager.

8 - 40 hours per week
Between £9.50 and £14.50 Per Hour

What are you going to do:

You will help customers in the new Battersea Bookshop located in the Battersea Power Station. No prior experience is required although if you have worked previously in retail that is good. We provide all your training to find the right products and ring out the sales at our till.

Battersea Bookshop has a dedicated events space and we plan to host events with authors and host exhibitions.

We will be open 7 days per week although the hours do vary a little by day of the week.

We use Rotacloud to handle work shifts and holiday requests and you will always know a month in advance what your planned shifts will be and we don't make last minute changes.

We offer a generous staff discount of 40% not just on the books we sell but pretty much anything in print. The same discount is offered on all items we sell.

The base salary is £9.50 per hour but may be more depending on prior experience and will be higher for our shift supervisors and assistant manager.
