Job description

Band 5 Community Staff Nurse Schools Training Team

The Families’ Health and Wellbeing Service (0-19) in Staffordshire have one part time vacancy 23 hours (Term Time Only) based in Lichfield.

We are looking for a dynamic, energetic and forward thinking Band 5 Nurse, to work for Midlands Partnership NHS Trust as a Community Staff Nurse Schools Training Practitioner (5-19). You will demonstrate commitment, drive and enthusiasm and work towards the service vision and trust values. In return you will be professionally supported and empowered to deliver a child friendly service.

The Families’ Health and Wellbeing Service (0-19) in Staffordshire offers an integrated, flexible and family focused service providing high quality, compassionate, personalised support and care to Children and Young People across Staffordshire. You will be a qualified nurse and have a detailed professional and clinical knowledge base regarding children and young people aged 5-19. You will also have a focus in public health across the 0-19 agenda.

The post holder will be part of the Families’ Health Wellbeing Service (0-19) service and will work to prevent ill health and in the promotion of positive health initiatives to children, young people, families and carers in the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme.

This is a dynamic post that requires the post holder to work towards preventing unnecessary hospital admissions and improving the health and wellbeing of the population served.

Within this role you will provide specific advice, education and training to teaching professionals and the voluntary early years sector. You will provide online training and regular updates to staff members and education of school teaching staff including the voluntary early years sector to the recognition and emergency treatment of potential life threatening health conditions including anaphylaxis, asthma and epilepsy in children.
