Introduction

Are you a Therapy Assistant looking for a new challenge, where you can pick up available shifts and find your perfect work/life balance? Join The Bridge in Middlesbrough and be a part of meaningful change.

With experience from the NHS and/or private sector, you will be responsible for managing a complex caseload, which will see you provide assessments, plan, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes aligned to care plans. 

As a Therapy Assistant, you will assist qualified therapists in delivering an excellent rehabilitation service to residents with various complex neurological and respiratory conditions. You will undertake therapeutic work with residents and supervise residents in activities relating to their treatment.

With a strong emphasis on teamwork, you’ll receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals and enjoy access to a variety of online and CPD training courses to support you reach your career goals.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Under the direction of a qualified registered therapist assist with resident therapy activities. This will include working with the resident on their mobility, activities of daily living and communication.
  • To be able to accurately report back to the therapists any work undertaken.
  • Keep up to date with documentation i.e. filing, photocopying
  • To assist resident with independent prescribed practice provided by qualified therapists
  • To work alongside therapists/other assistants to run resident activity groups when required
  • To provide technical support and instruction to patients engaging in creative and vocational activities as therapeutic interventions

To be successful in this role:

  • Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Driving License
  • Experience in working within a similar environment
  • Occupational Therapy assessment processes and report writing
  • Facilitating individual and group therapy
