Become an Amazing Tutor - £13/hour in London

Tutors United is an award-winning social enterprise who are on a mission to use the power of tutoring to break down barriers in education and enable every child to succeed. We deliver confidence-boosting, attainment-raising group tutorials to some of Planet Earth’s coolest primary school pupils. Currently we are on the lookout for tutors to join us on this exciting journey in September 2022!

2 - 10 hours per week
£13.00 Per Hour

Then look no further! Our tutor role is perfect for you.

About the role:

  • Delivering two hours of Maths or English to a class of six bubbly primary school pupils
  • Teach in one of our partner community centres or schools throughout London
  • Using our resources and lesson plans to creatively deliver lessons, games and activities
  • Providing written lesson feedback for parents
  • Assessing pupils and marking their assessments; monitoring their progress first-hand!
  • Liaising with key stakeholders and core TU staff
  • Attending and participating in our professional skills-focused training days throughout the year
  • Utilising online management systems

No prior experience required; we just ask that you:

  • Have a  6 or above  (B or above) in  Maths & English  at GCSE level
  • Will be studying at an  undergraduate  level as of September 2022
  • Are happy to tutor at least once per week on a weekday afternoon (3:30-6:00pm) at an in-person location in London
  • Are available for our compulsory training day on Saturday 10th September 2022
  • Attend our subsequent three compulsory top-up training sessions throughout the 2022/23 academic year
  • Have an existing right to work in the UK
  • Share our vision to close the attainment gap in education
  • Are keen to take on responsibility
  • Are able to work in a team and offer support to peers
  • Are punctual and have a can-do attitude!
