Advanced Clinical Practitioner - Paramedic/Nurse-Rotational Model
Department: Operations Directorate
Salary: £40,057-£45,839 per annum + unsocial enhancements depending on rota line / position
Band 7 Agenda for Change
The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) is seeking to employ Advanced Practitioners experienced in emergency and urgent care. If you are considering a new challenge, we are looking for individuals with the right clinical skills and experience to join us in delivering safe, high-quality care to our users.
As a senior clinician with extensive experience in emergency and or urgent care, working as a high-level autonomous practitioner you will be part of a team of Advanced Practitioners based throughout the North East region.
The Advanced Practitioner model at NEAS incorporates three rotational elements: -
1) Operational role responding to urgent incidents and undertaking patient-facing assessments
2) Telephone assessments - working within the Clinical Advisory Service (CAS)
3) Home visits and supporting Primary Care
NEAS is committed to supporting the development of all our staff, to enable progression and enhance their skills.
Candidates must be either a Registered Paramedic or Registered General Nurse and possess the enthusiasm and motivation required to develop this service. It is essential that you hold an accredited Clinical Skills Course qualification. Independent prescribing would be advantageous.
Successful candidates will possess excellent interpersonal, leadership and organisational skills, be able to work autonomously as well as being part of a team.
You will be committed to ongoing clinical skills development, providing supervision to our First Contact Practitioners, involvement in research and audit and be willing to play a part in shaping the service going forward.
NEAS Advanced Practitioners are based across the North East from operational bases across the region.
When working within the CAS you may be based at Newburn Riverside Newcastle, Russell House Hebburn and Winter House Wynyard Co Durham, or there is the option to work remotely from home.
We also offer various working options:
Part-time hours, flexible and home working for CAS telephone assessments as part of the role. Your base will reflect your home address to minimise travel.
The service operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
Informal enquires are welcomed: clare.bannister@neas.nhs.uk
