Post Title: Mortuary Assistant

Grade: Band 3

Department: Mortuary, Unplanned Care Group

Location: Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

 

 

Brief Description of the Role:

 

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Mortuary Assistant to join the Bradford Royal Infirmary Mortuary service.

The successful candidate will be involved in the day to day workings in the mortuary at Bradford Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust; this includes assisting with and undertaking efficient and effective body identification, registration and release procedures of the deceased from the mortuary.

The job holder will be required to liaise with a wide number of people from both within and outside of the Trust including Consultant Pathologists, Medical staff, Coroner’s Officer’s, Funeral Directors and on occasions bereaved relatives.

Summary of most important Experience/Skills/Qualifications required:

The post holder will be involved in the safe and effective day to day working within the Mortuary. The post holder will be involved in a range of daily activities, from receipt of the deceased to their release, be involved in the procedures for foetal burials and histology, and maintaining the necessary mortuary data.
