What are you going to do:

Jobs for 13-year-olds are part-time jobs and your ability to use your soft skills. As a young person, developing your skills becomes valuable later on in life. There are plenty of jobs available to 13-year-olds, some being:

  • Weekend Shop Work

You can earn cash by working in a shop, restaurant or takeaway during the weekend. Gain vital skills in customer service, handling money and types of software.

  • Paper Rounds

Depending on school schedules for 13-year-olds, you can work a paper round before school, at least 7 am. You will learn organisational, time management and communication skills. 

  • House Sitting

If you are a responsible 13-year-old, you may find work as a house-sitting part-time; looking after houses for neighbours is a great way for teenagers to make some cash. 

  • Pet Sitting or Dog Walking

Asking friends, family and people from your neighbourhood by looking after people's pets. Some tasks include walking animals and providing you and the animal's much-needed exercise. This is a great way to learn about caring for animals, responsibility and building confidence. 

  • Car Washing 

Building a client list and marketing your services is a great way for you to start your own little business. Developing your skills in negotiation, customer service and entrepreneurship.

  • Maximum 12 hours a week (Term Time)
  • Maximum 25 hours a week (School Holidays)
  • Every 4 hours of work = 1-hour break
  • Cannot work during school hours (7 am to 7 pm)
