HFSS and Nutrition Manager

We have a unique opportunity for a Nutrition & HFSS Manager to join our team on a FTC up to 12 months (maternity cover) in the Health & Nutrition team here at ASDA, as we kick of a new ambitious health and nutrition strategy. You'll work cross functionally with all of our internal teams including pharmacy, brand, healthcare, public affairs to ensure product innovation, legislation and processes are all in place.
About The Role
Reporting into the Head of Health & Nutrition you will:
- Lead the ongoing delivery of a legally compliant customer proposition, aligned to the business' agreed outcome for HFSS (High Fat Salt Sugar).
- Support stakeholders across the business to understand the relevance of the HFSS legislation for their specific activities and embed data and processes to ensure compliance to the legislation is delivered
- Manage and document HFSS legislation queries and respond to relevant stakeholders
- Categorise all SKUs sold within Asda in scope of the HFSS restrictions to enable effective data and reporting - this is a business critical daily task
- Engage categories to provide expert advice on HFSS legislation and ensure the requirements of the legislation feed into category strategies
- Support embedding of HFSS data and new processes related to HFSS from store level right the way up to senior leadership
- Engage the business and preparing teams to ensure compliant and timely delivery of any HFSS future changes, for example but not limited to restrictions by price promotion, advertising, and across devolved nations
- Be the key Nutritionist for developing and implementing Asda's strategy on children's health
- Provide support to Public Relations with timely responses to Government consultations or queries on HFSS-related matters
- Monitor competitor responses to HFSS legislation and communicate to relevant stakeholders within Asda
About You
As well as being a qualified nutritionist/dietitian, you'll also have:
- A degree in nutritional science, dietetics or food science
- Be an Associate (Registered) Nutritionist status and commitment to CPD via AfN code
- Ability to understand and communicate scientific research principles
- Strong project leadership skills
- Good decision making and communication skills with the ability to engage and build relationships internally and externally
