Job description

At OFG, we work smarter so you can spend more time doing the things you love!

Job Title:         Assistant Headteacher

Location:        Syon Manor College, Isleworth, London

Salary:             £50,000 per annum

Hours:             38.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday

Contract:         Permanent; Term time only

We currently have an exciting opportunity to appoint an Assistant Headteacher at our new Site Syon Manor College in Isleworth.

We are looking to appoint a flexible Assistant Headteacher who will focus on pastoral and curriculum elements within the college. You will have substantial experience of leading across a department or faculty who will provide an exceptional opportunity for a motivated, inspirational teacher, and creative leader who is passionate about outstanding education.

We are looking to welcome an Assistant Headteacher who will have the tenacity to turn ideas into reality. You should therefore have demonstratable experience in improving the quality of provision in an area you have led, in either a middle or senior leadership role, along with a desire and determination to improve the educational experience of all students.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent management, inter-personal and organisational skills with an ability to support teams in working together, showing commitment and ensuring equality of opportunity and accountability for all.

About the Role

We are looking to appoint an Assistant Headteacher to join our Senior Leadership Team and to help formulate and manage the College Development Plan and the aims and objectives of the college.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with young people with a range of complex learning needs. You will be able to demonstrate a working understanding of how these needs impact upon learning and behaviour in the classroom. You may have specialist knowledge and experience of working with autistic spectrum disorder or children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Or you may have experience of working across both specialisms.

You will have a Nationally Recognised Degree and relevant QTS or QTLS Status.

As Assistant Headteacher you will have management and teaching responsibilities with a focus on achieving positive outcomes for young people. You will be expected to contribute to the organisation, management and supervision of school routines and curriculum. It is important to consider that the individual pupil’s learning and effective progression of achievement are provided through the development of the curriculum and policies of the school.
