Job description

We're on a mission to give our colleagues an amazing work/life balance!

Job Title:         SEMH Teacher

Location:         Westbourne School, Sutton-in-Ashfield

Salary:             up to £40,000 per annum dependent on experience

Hours:             40 hours per week; Monday - Friday 8.30-4.45

Contract:         Permanent

Are you a SEMH Specialist Teacher committed to improving the lives of children and young people ?

We are looking for an experienced SEMH Specialist Teacher to join our fantastic team at Westbourne School, Sutton-in-Ashfield due to growth. As a SEMH Specialist Teacher, you will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximises children’s achievement and ability to develop.

This is a great opportunity for a SEMH Specialist Teacher who wants to spend less time on paperwork and more time developing creative learning opportunities for children with varied and complex needs. Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure and you will be working in a school where we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible.

When it comes to looking after our children, we never settle for second best. We are looking for someone who shares our trauma-responsive ethos; someone who shares our belief that structure, consistency, kindness and nurture are all equally important building blocks in creating the appropriate culture for pupils and staff to thrive.

This role maybe used to cover KS3 Science and English lessons, but we are also interested in hearing from candidates with other subject backgrounds or those who are interested in part time roles.

Educated to degree level and/or of Qualified Teacher Status, you will be calm, engaging, resilient, and have an innovative style of teaching, motivated by helping every child to reach their potential.

About us

Westbourne School caters for children aged 11-18 and we are growing to 85 pupils across two sites.  You will be responsible for planning and delivering various subjects across the curriculum. Differentiation and individualised learning strategies are vital skills required to meet the needs of all our pupils who will have had varying degrees of success in their educational lives.
