We are looking for someone to support a young man with learning difficulties and autism, with activities such as horse riding, swimming and walking around parks and gardens, together with visits to Brighton and other local towns.
This is a great summer role for someone interested in working with people on the austism spectrum and who enjoys being out and about.
Key tasks
- Offering the young man a choice of outings and activities. He enjoys walks in National Trust properties, Tilgate Park, Lewes, Arundel, Guildford, Horsham and the sea fronts at Littlehampton, Hove and Brighton including the Pier and Garden Centres.
- Taking him shopping in Brighton
- Taking him to cafes
- There is limited personal care, the young man requires some support in using the toilet and helping with outer clothing, or getting changed for horse riding or swimming.
The successful applicant will be:

Previous experience of supporting someone with a disability is not essential as full training will be given but it is important that you enjoy helping others, are fit and active and have good interpersonal skills. Applicants must be available to work on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday*, a car driver would be an advantage.
*We will consider applicants who are available on two of these days.
An enhanced DBS check will be required.
