As a buyer, you'll help shape the performing and sustainable supplier base capability by actively engaging Supplier Relationship Management (SRM).

37 - 40 hours per week

What are you going to do:

We're looking for a dedicated and experienced buyer to join our team in purchasing. To streamline the procurement process and achieve our business goals, you will work with cross-functional teams, keep an eye on market developments, and oversee supplier connections. Strong analytical abilities, strategic thinking, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment are necessary for this important position.  As a buyer, it will be your job to find, pick, and bargain with suppliers to get the greatest price and quality for our business.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets
  • Support the relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations
  • Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities
  • Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures during supplier negotiations and contracts award process
  • Actively engage with other team; Installation, Sales, Technical Managers, to gather product knowledge and business insight to help build the Procurement category strategy
  • Assess and evaluate suppliers and contribute to performance reviews to ensure contract compliance

What we ask:

  • At least finished high school
  • Preferred but not essential – experience of Sage or SageX3, MRP and Warehouse Management systems
  • Able to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with staff, stakeholders, and suppliers
  • Previous experience of working in a purchasing team preferably within retail or manufacturing environment
  • Commercial and financial awareness with a full understanding of how supply issues impact the customer order fulfilment
  • Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or similar qualification or studying towards CIPS qualification would be beneficial
