Job Title:          Design Technology Teacher/Instructor

Location:          Wetheringsett Manor, Suffolk

Salary:              Up to £40,000 per annum dependent on experience and skills

Hours:              37.5 hours per week; Mon - Fri 8:15am - 4pm

Contract:          Permanent; Term Time only

We’re looking for a Design Technology Teacher/Instructor to join our outstanding team at Wetheringsett Manor School located in Suffolk.

It would also be ideal if you have experience or a passion for also covering construction lessons. 

Wetheringsett Manor is also part of the 4-day working week trial which will be continuing next academic year. This means that staff work 80% of their time but get 100% of their salary, this is not a contractual change, but something designed to promote staff wellbeing.

Purpose of Job

  1. To secure high quality teaching, effective use of resources and improve standards of learning and achievement for all pupils in consultation with the Head of Education.
  2. To teach a range of subjects as necessary to ensure the effective delivery of the school’s curriculum.
  3. In consultation with the Head of Education undertake other identified areas of responsibility as necessary to ensure effective delivery of the school’s curriculum.

About the School

Wetheringsett Manor School is a new independent day SEMH School for up to 42 pupils aged 11-18. Our dedicated team work together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life.

Wetheringsett Manor School has gone through significant refurbishment and is based in Suffolk, East Anglia and opened to pupils in November 2020. The Manor House is located in 17 acres of parkland with wooded boundaries and sits on the edge of the village of Wetheringsett. The accommodation also provides several other buildings including a converted stable block, a cottage and two industrial units.

We pride ourselves in steering pupils in the right direction, nurturing aspiration to progress them both academically and socially to encourage them to take pride in their achievements.
