Role: Children's Care Assistant

Salary: Up to £28,795.68 per annum (inclusive of sleep-in payments and travel allowance) + £1,500 Welcome Bonus

Hours: Permanent, Full-Time (7 days on, 7 days off shift pattern)

Location: Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire

  • During each of your 7-day stints you will have a 20.5 hour break from 4.00pm to 12.30pm the next day which is yours to enjoy!

The Opportunity

Our next Residential Children's Care Worker will be someone who has:

Some of your duties would be as follows

  • Organising garden play and activates off site such as bike rides, fishing trips etc
  • Supporting the children to appointments and activities such as shopping or trips out
  • Completing relevant paperwork
  • Undertaking household tasks
  • Engage our children and young people in tasks and activities

Acorn Education and Care, part of Outcomes First Group, are recruiting Residential Children's Care Workers to join our team in the Oxfordshire region.

Steps are a children’s home that cares for 6 – 13 year olds, all of who have social and emotional issues due to early years trauma. It’s our aim to help these children understand their emotions and provide them with a safe, nurturing environment that they can grow and flourish in. 

We do this by building positive relationships, challenging the difficult behaviours and providing activities and events that build self-esteem – from games nights in the house, to football in the garden, to caring for our chickens and goats to summer holidays in Newquay. 

The home is based in Chipping Norton but is commutable from throughout the UK. As you will only need to travel to and from the site once every two weeks we have staff working here from as far afield as the North West and South East of England!
