Job Title: PE / PSHE Instructor

Location: Mountfield Heath School, East Sussex

Salary: £22,000 - £28,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday - Friday 8.30am - 4.00pm

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

We are looking for an experienced PE / PSHE Instructor to join our fantastic team at Mountfield Heath School, Robertsbridge. As a PE / PSHE Instructor, you will motivate, transform and energise in a way that maximises pupil’s achievement and ability to develop.

This is a great opportunity for an PE / PSHE Instructor who wants to interact and work tirelessly for pupils with varied and complex needs. Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure and you will be working in a school where we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible.

When it comes to looking after our pupils, we never settle for second best. We are looking for a PE / PSHE Instructor who shares our vision to build incredible futures by empowering vulnerable young people in the UK, to be happy and to make their way in the world.

Whilst previous experience of working in an SEN environment would be desirable, excellent teaching skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important.

Educated to GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths you will be calm, engaging, resilient, and have an innovative style of teaching, motivated by helping every child to reach their potential. Degree is desirable.

Purpose of Job

  • To plan, deliver and monitor a coordinated programme of high quality, professional Physical Education that is progressive and reflective of the needs of pupils and supports the aim of increasing participation in school sport by all pupils at Mountfield Heath School. 
  • To plan, deliver and monitor education for all pupils of the importance of healthy living and relationships to support a coordinated programme of high quality PSHE across Mountfield Heath School

Mountfield Heath School is a new independent special educational needs provision, for 32 pupils aged 5-12.  The successful candidate will support our teachers working alongside other support staff and therapists to deliver the curriculum and help nurture a therapeutic environment to meet a range of needs including social, emotional, behavioural, communication and learning difficulties.
