Our next Senior Support Worker will be someone who has: 

  • Full UK Driving Licence required
  • 'NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care - Adults' or equivalent qualification
  • A big heart and passion to make a difference to the lives of the people we support.
  • Patience, resilience, and calmness.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Supporting and supervising the implementation of an individual programme of life skills, key skills and independence skills and leisure in their Home and the community
  • Administering medication in accordance with Company and Regulatory Body policies and procedures
  • Leading and motivating the support team within the service
  • Operating at all times in accordance with Company policies and procedures, with particular reference to Safeguarding, Whistleblowing, Complaints and Representations and Behaviour Policies

The Opportunity:

Options Autism are looking for a Senior Support Worker to join our team in the Cornwall Region.

This opportunity forms part of our Kernow Options Autism team, where our service supports adults with autism, learning disabilities or mental health needs within their own home or a family setting.  CQC rated Good, the aim of the service is to support, empower and encourage individuals to take an active part in their community and access mainstream leisure pursuits and interests, as well as encouraging families to join in. This includes meals out, trips to the cinema or theatre, swimming, going to the gym, horse riding, etc

We support people in their own homes to learn all the necessary independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, shopping for food, clothing or new furniture, booking holidays, helping them with their finances, paying bills, making appointments and reading letters.  We develop individual support plans to include access to day centres, colleges or adult education classes, or supported employment.  We listen to the individual and significant others and design a personalised, flexible service which is tailored to meet individual needs and can be adapted over time.

The role is based in Roche and within commutable distance of St Austell, Bodmin and surrounding villages and towns.
