Job description

Home based with considerable amount of time required in London including evening events andmeetings. The PhilanthropyManageris accountable foridentifying, securing, and cultivating major donor relationships and helping to deliver on the overall fundraising strategy. Role responsibilities Support the creation, implementation, and deliveryof an aspiringnew major donor fundraising strategy to meet the immediate and longer-term needs of the charity and devise, develop and manage a programme of relevant cultivation events including receptions and lunches.Implement necessary systems and processes to promote the growth of major donor giving across the charity to include considering the overall supporter journey.

Make appropriate approaches and secure donations from major donors to achieve targets.Using the database and our network of staff, trustees and existing supporters, identify, research, approach and cultivate both new and existing prospects.Ensure the highest standard of donor care and supporter stewardship is achieved via considered tailored donor care plans.

Produce clear and compelling proposals, bespoke project information, engaging impact reports, thorough briefs and other supporting materials.

Manage and develop high-level relationships with prospective and existing major donorsin order togenerate funds and long-term engagement with the charity and, identify and fostereffectiverelationships with key charity colleagues including Senior Leadership Team,trustees, and colleagues from across fundraising,operations and the foodbank network in order to identify and maximise high value opportunities and to strengthen donor experience and the overall supporter journey.

Update and maintain our supporter database, ensuring all information relating to funders and prospects is accurate and up to date and adheres to data protection guidelines.Take a proactive approach to researching and applying funding trends and initiatives in day-to-day work.

Actively dedicate to continual professional development and able to adapt to the occasional need to work outside of normal working hours and travel throughout the UK.

Person Specification Technical skills and minimum knowledge: Significant experience of identifying, building and managing relationships with senior individuals and securing major gifts.

Numerate, comfortable with data and the ability to handle significant budgets.

Experience of working strategically and collaboratively with colleagues to improve and strengthen donor experience and the overall supporter journey.

Knowledge of?Salesforce or?a?similar CRM database.

Knowledge of charity legislation
