Construction Quality Engineer

The successful candidate will be capable of managing projects of various sizes focusing on the South of the UK. The ideal person for this role will have commercial client construction experience, within either Site/ Project Management/ Building inspection/ Quality Inspection/ Surveying, with experience of customer liaison, producing various progress reports throughout each project on the condition of exterior of the property, checking products such as cladding and roofing. You would be dealing directly with customers, architects, surveyors, contractors and site workers, ensuring Operatives on site are installing products correctly, taking photographs upon completion and producing progress updates for internal teams as well as customers. You will work from home when you are not out at customer sites. You are required to attend the office in Cardiff for your initial 2 week training period. You may need to travel to other UK projects to support other members of the team, and there will also be infrequent overseas travel around 8 times per year, but this could be less and will be short stays, mainly to Europe. All expenses will be covered including food and fuel. Construction Quality Engineer Benefits: Salary of £42,000 plus yearly 10% bonus, taking salary to £46,200 Hybrid working - remote working from home Company car (Tesla/ Polestar) plus laptop and mobile, fuel expenses covered Hours are Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm Yearly bonus up to 10% of annual salary based on company performance Permanent, stable role within a growing organisation 24 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays with Christmas shutdown increasing with service Death in Service scheme Pension, 4% employee + 5% employer Long Service Awards, award given from 5 years on in 5 year increments Brand New State of the Art Offices and Free Parking Construction Quality Engineer Duties and Responsibilities : Assist in the correct Specification and Installation of Products working with the External Sales Team Ensure delivery of best practice with respect to the Design and Installation of Products via onsite installation training with customers Responsible for all installation training (onsite/client premises/Cardiff) Reduce potential complaints/claims by early Proactive project intervention Manage customer complaint and claims management Final Inspection Reports for Warranty purposes Provide feedback into the business from customers and site with respect to improvements additions and developments Direct the development, installation and sign off (where appropriate) of projects Assist the Technical team in installation of testing rigs when required Assist the commercial/sales function with project support Conduct contractor-based meetings NPD/product enhancement project work - Production of development ideas (through site/customer feedback) Report on all issues relating to site practice including handling, lifting devices and CDM/Health and Safety Construction Quality Engineer Essential Experience/Qualifications: Experience within the Construction industry, in particular property inspection/ commercial surveying/ building inspection, this may also suit a Project Engineer or Construction Manager. Ability to produce reports on performance, project development, and quality of installation. Experience of managing the installation process, understanding the correct methods of installing exterior building products. Knowledge of roofing/ facades/ cladding products. Experience of having direct liaison with customers on site. Good computer literacy and numeracy i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point etc. You must be happy to travel to sites throughout the South region of the UK on a daily basis, working from home when not on site. You must also be willing to cover other UK projects and infrequent trips overseas for short stays.
