We are looking for an enthusiastic Teacher of Science to join our Academy and high performing Science department. With responsibility for improving the quality of teaching and learning, within your own department first, and Academy wide secondly, you will be accountable for ensuring the very highest learning experience for all pupils. You will play a key role in our Teaching and Learning team, leading on high quality and bespoke inset, coaching individual teachers, leading by example with early career and trainee teachers, and working with the senior team to improve Academy wide strategies and policy. This role offers an exciting prospect for a candidate to take full advantage of the unique opportunities that our all-through academy brings.
The post will provide an exciting and challenging opportunity for an ambitious practitioner wishing to develop their career and make a real impact on further driving up attainment and progress. The ideal candidate will be an expert teacher of Science who is familiar with evidence informed teaching practices and likely to have had departmental leadership experience. Pupils at SMA love learning, enjoy science and many choose to pursue STEM subjects at A Level and beyond. The Science department work creatively and collaboratively to design engaging schemes of work, which help to establish, for our pupils, the importance of the subject in their day-to-day lives. We offer a variety of visits, fieldwork and additional learning opportunities to help to inspire our pupils to get out and explore the world in which they live.
