ASAP Prospero Teaching are excited to offer a unique opportunity for a Psychology Graduate to join a welcoming team at a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) located in the heart of Stockbridge Village, as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about applying their psychological knowledge to support the learning and development of students. The school offers unique provision for students across KS1 - KS4. Working closely with our experienced teaching and support staff, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in facilitating a positive and inclusive learning environment, with a focus on supporting students with additional learning needs. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of students, under the guidance of the classroom teacher. Use your background in psychology to support students with behavioural, social, and emotional needs, employing strategies that promote positive behaviour and mental well-being. Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, focusing on social skills, academic tasks, and emotional regulation strategies. Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to implement effective support plans for students with additional needs. Monitor and evaluate students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to the assessment process. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your understanding of educational psychology and inclusive teaching practices. About You: A Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a closely related field. A strong interest in educational psychology and a desire to pursue a career in education or educational psychology. Previous experience working with children or young adults in an educational, tutoring, or mentoring capacity is highly desirable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents.
