Work as a Head of Science in South East London
We are currently seeking a permanent Head of Science to join a Secondary School in Lewisham, Southeast London.
As the Head of Science, you will be responsible for leading the strategic vision and development of the science department in this Good' Ofsted rated Secondary School. Your expertise and leadership will be crucial in shaping the curriculum, guiding the teaching staff, and fostering a positive learning environment for the students. In this role you will be working at one site with the opportunity to gain additional responsibilities across the school trust.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement the science curriculum in alignment with educational standards and objectives.
Provide guidance and support to science teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
Evaluate and enhance teaching methods and strategies to ensure effective student learning outcomes.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment within the science department, promoting teamwork and professional growth.
Develop and maintain relationships with external organisations and professionals to enhance the science program and opportunities for students.
Monitor student progress and assess the department's performance, implementing necessary interventions and improvements.
Coordinate and oversee science-related events, competitions, and school trips, ensuring a safe and enriching experience for students.
