Job description
Some products andprocesses are quite straightforward to analyse. Not here. The demands of theenergy market are great and, for our business to succeed, we need the mosttalented and exceptional analysts.Centrica is thelargest integrated energy supplier in the UK so our decisions matter. Customersare always foremost in our thoughts. Evaluating customer behaviour in highlycompetitive retail markets, predicting how much energy they will need, analysisof current and future markets and making major investment and hedging decisionsto secure future supplies of gas and electricity requires sophisticatedanalysis.
We are looking forhighly numerate and driven individuals who appreciate that energy businessesare driven by many factors – for example the market costs for power, gas,carbon, coal and oil, macro economics and geopolitical factors – and that theseare changing every minute. We have invested £4bn in new sources of energy andexpect to spend a further £15bn on new sources of gas, power generation andstorage by 2020. The analysis we do here makes sure that our investments count.An analyst summer placement will give you a real taste of what a career as ananalyst in Centrica is really like.
