Part-time Minecraft tutor

Job description

We are based in south-east London and specialise in teaching children how to code. We are looking for a passionate Minecraft expert to teach our (very young) students how to play Minecraft.

Of particular interest are as many as possible of the following:

Technical Skills

  • shelter design and build, survival tactics and additional player modes
  • deep understanding of mining, crafting, enchanting, brewing, mobs, trading, Redstone, resource packs (resource pack editors), and modifications ('mods'), plug-in's, extensions knowledge (e.g., Bukkit)
  • creation and adaptation of custom worlds for the purposes of teaching
  • server set-up (and running/administering private worlds, back-up's, restores)

Inter-personal Skills

  • pleasant, dependable, approachable and polite
  • enjoys teaching and interacting with young children, liaising with parents
Tutoring Skills
  • ability to develop courseware (in conjunction with other Spark4Kids staff)
  • goal-setting, guidance and technical support
  • leading a class, providing help to children
