Wraparound Childcare Club Manager in Newcastle Upon Tyne

We seek a motivated team player who has a passion to care for children, to lead our wraparound clubs in Washington and Gosforth, Tyne and Wear. You will assist the directors to provide a safe, stimulating and fun environment for children.

16 - 20 hours per week
Between £13.00 and £13.50 Per Hour

What are you going to do:

Main duties include:
Planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment.
Providing comprehensive care for the children including collecting them from school and delivering them safely to parents/carers.
Providing refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met.
Administering first aid when necessary.
Setting up the play space including moving furniture and play equipment.
Consulting with children and involving them in planning activities.
Providing support and supervision to play workers and other staff, including volunteers.
Developing and maintaining good communication with all members of the club, with schools, and especially with parents.   
Undertaking appropriate and relevant training.
Monitoring and maintaining a healthy, safe and secure working environment.
Working within the framework of the club’s policies and procedures, and the Early Years Foundation Stage.

  • At least finished college BTEC levels
  • leadership skills

  • work on own initiative, using judgement and common sense
  • experience of working with 3 to 13 year olds
  • experience of working in a supervisory capacity
  • ability to provide and facilitate safe and stimulating play
  • understanding the varied needs of children and families

Extra information

We have three posts available, which are all the same. They are based in the Great Park and in Gosforth, Newcastle and in Washington, Tyne and Wear.
All three jobs are for two sessions per week day, before and after school, during term time. There is some flexibility to have a contract that doesn't include all ten sessions.
The Gosforth posts also include hours during the school holidays when we are open from 8am to 6pm, contracted hours to be agreed with the successful candidate.
The Washington post would have the option to include some school holiday hours in the Gosforth club.
