Summer Camp Activity Leader in London

BlueSky Education is looking for Activity Leaders to join our summer camp staff in London during summer 2017.

Job description

BlueSky Education is a residential English language camp provider in Singapore, UK, and Australia. We are currently recruiting seasonal ESL Activity Leaders for our residential summer camp in London which opens in July and August 2017. We are looking for outgoing, enthusiastic and highly responsible university students or recent graduates to join our team. The role of summer school Activity Leader requires engagement in all aspects our school as directed by the Director of Studies and Centre Manager. Please note this is not a residential position.

Main duties and responsibilities

1. Activities and Excursions:

  • To supervise, engage and encourage students to participate fully in all aspects of the leisure and activity programme.
  • To prepare safe and enjoyable activities and excursions to a high standard.
  • To lead and deliver exciting yet well managed activities and excursions.
  • To promote the safety and welfare of all students in BlueSky's care.
  • To assist with student arrivals and departures.
  • To assist with general day to day duties including meal monitoring and administration tasks, as directed by senior staff.
  • To ensure students are informed about meeting points and times along with upcoming events.

  • 2. Welfare

  • To respond to problems and emergency situations as appropriate.
  • To protect the property and resources of BlueSky and its partners. Be responsible for packing resources in an organised manner.
  • To understand and adhere to the BlueSky Child Safeguarding and PREVENT policies.

  • 3. Academic:

  • To support the academic team as requested by the Director of Studies and Centre Manager.
  • Qualifications

  • Native or native-level English speaker (CEFR C1 or C2)
  • Experience in working with ESL learners/children preferred
  • Responsible, enthusiastic and organised
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use own initiative and lead activities/excursions
  • Approaches work with a flexible 'can-do' attitude
  • Be available to attend training prior to the camp
  • A desire to work in Education or ESL an advantage

    Core salary and bonuses:

    ACTIVITY LEADER

    Weekly basic salary: under 24 years old - GBP 334
