Purchase Ledger Assistant in Wandsworth

As Purchase Ledger Assistant you will need to administer the purchase ledger for suppliers and ensure that outward payments are made in accordance with appropriate timescales and within relevant payment terms.

What are you going to do

Key Tasks:

  • Control over purchase ledger/subcontract ledger
  • Ensure all costs and expenditures are authorised and costed accurately
  • Processing supplier invoices and delivery notes onto Eque-2 (previous experience not compulsory) and SAGE financial software
  • Resolving queries by direct contact with suppliers, sub-contractors and colleagues.
  • Reconciling supplier accounts, sub-contractor accounts, ensuring that outstanding invoices are cleared from the system by payment or resolution of queries – monthly supplier statements reconciliations
  • Ensuring that suppliers and subcontractors are paid within agreed terms
  • Assist with preparing payment runs, checking for accuracy and integrity and obtaining authorisation from senior management
  • Undertake verification of subcontractors under the Construction Industry Scheme, and in line with the HMRC
  • Set up new suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring the supplier/subcontract assessment form is completed and signed by all relevant parties involved
  • Deputising for other members of the Purchase Ledger team in their absence
  • Carrying out other tasks as requested by the Finance Director
  • Resolving queries with ordering/receiving departments or site management
