Hope Against Suicide is a Bristol-based charity providing crucial support to those suffering a mental health crisis. We are looking for new trustees who can bring fresh skills and perspectives to help shape our strategy as we enter our next phase.

We welcome applications from individuals with experience in any of the following areas
- Treasury and Financial Management – We are seeking someone with strong financial skills to become Treasurer Trustee. This is a key position for ensuring robust financial oversight and sustainability.
- Business Development & Fundraising – Experience in income generation, partnerships, and long-term sustainability. You’ll work with staff and volunteers to help grow our funding base and support our mission.
- Risk, Compliance & Legal – Expertise in identifying and mitigating risks (including data protection and operational risks), regulatory compliance, contracts, and charity law.
- Human Resources – Experience in recruitment, staff and volunteer management, and workplace policies. You’ll support our CEO and Head of Operations in strengthening our people practices.

Hope Against Suicide is a Bristol-based charity working to prevent suicide and support people in emotional crisis. We provide compassionate, non-clinical support to individuals who are struggling, helping them feel heard, valued, and connected. As we grow in scale and prestige, we are seeking to strengthen and diversify our Board of Trustees to guide us through this exciting next chapter.
We are looking for new trustees who can bring a range of skills, experience, and perspectives to help shape our strategy, support our operations, and ensure we remain a resilient, responsive, and values-led organisation.
What You Be Doing To Help Our Cause
As a trustee, you will
- Attend and actively participate in Board meetings (held in Bristol).
- Contribute to strategic decision-making and governance.
- Take on specific areas of responsibility aligned with your expertise and the charity’s needs.
- Uphold the legal duties of trustees as set out by the Charity Commission
- Acting as an ambassador at events.
- Supporting fundraising efforts.
- Stepping in on operational matters as the need arises.
