We're working with a well-established regional law firm, recruiting a Legal Assistant to join the Conveyancing team in their Chester office. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual looking to gain hands-on experience early in their legal career and work closely with senior fee earners on a range of residential and commercial property transactions.


Responsibilities include

  • Reviewing initial documents received from clients
  • Checking signatures against ID documents and completing risk assessments
  • Requesting property searches and raising/replying to enquiries as directed by fee earners
  • Corresponding with clients, brokers, estate agents, solicitors, and other third parties
  • Reviewing and reporting on mortgage offers and lender requirements
  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents and reports
  • Obtaining and reviewing proof and source of funds and wealth
  • Arranging draft and final indemnity insurance policies
  • Calculating and completing SDLT returns
  • Preparing completion statements, requesting deposits and mortgage funds, and making payments
  • Handling post-completion matters, including Land Registry applications and title updates
  • Raising bills, archiving files, and maintaining accurate client and transaction records
  • Assisting fee earners with file management, calls, and administrative tasks
  • Supporting the exchange and completion of transactions
