Overview

This role focuses on improving the technical performance of multiple websites by carrying out audits, identifying issues, and implementing fixes that improve long-term organic growth. The position is predominantly technical with minimal direct client communication. Most interaction occurs with SEO Account Managers, while the core work involves analysis, optimisation, and documentation.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on technical SEO experience
  • Strong proficiency with tools such as Screaming Frog, SEMrush, GA4, and Google Search Console
  • Experience working with platforms such as WordPress and Shopify is highly desirable

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of 8–12 websites and deliver ongoing technical SEO improvements
  • Improve Core Web Vitals and page speed, working alongside development teams to implement changes
  • Conduct in-depth technical SEO audits across different CMSs and site architectures
  • Monitor site health, crawlability, indexation, and visibility using industry tools
  • Review and optimise site architecture, internal linking structures, and URL organisation
  • Analyse content from a technical SEO perspective, identifying issues such as thin content, duplication, cannibalisation, or poor internal linking
  • Provide recommendations for content consolidation, pruning, or restructuring
  • Manage technical on-page optimisation at scale, including metadata, headings, and internal linking
  • Analyse performance metrics and produce clear, actionable recommendations
  • Oversee and quality-check XML sitemaps, robots.txt, canonical tags, and other core technical elements
  • Support implementation of redirects, structured data, and hreflang, ensuring accuracy after deployment
  • Investigate ranking or traffic drops, diagnose root causes, and outline prioritised solutions
  • Prepare concise technical documentation for internal teams
  • Collaborate with developers via clear briefs or tickets to ensure accurate implementation
  • Maintain organised records of technical work for reporting and tracking
  • Stay updated with industry changes and algorithm updates, ensuring best practices are followed
