Job description

Technical Prep Supervisor - Live Events & AV

Location: Beckenham, London

Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: £32,000 - £34,000 per annum + overtime

Are you a hands-on leader who loves the buzz of live events and thrives on keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes?

We're looking for a Technical Prep Supervisor to take charge of a busy AV warehouse operation, ensuring that every piece of kit is show-ready, on time, and perfectly prepped for world-class live productions.

What You'll Do

You'll lead the day-to-day running of the technical prep area — overseeing the preparation, testing, and dispatch of high-end AV, lighting, and staging equipment for live events across the UK.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Leading and mentoring a small team of warehouse technicians, ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety in every task.
  • Managing stock control and equipment tracking, including regular audits and discrepancy resolution.
  • Collaborating with project managers and hire desks to assess kit availability, plan workloads, and manage subhires when required.
  • Running the full subhire process — sourcing, booking, inspecting, and returning third-party gear.
  • Overseeing the loading and unloading of vehicles, ensuring equipment is handled safely and labelled accurately.
  • Representing the warehouse team in pre-production meetings, offering valuable insights on kit prep timelines and logistics.
  • Championing continuous improvement, looking for smarter ways to work, reduce costs, and improve stock accuracy.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who's got both technical know-how and leadership flair:

  • Proven experience in a technical prep or warehouse supervisory role within the AV or live events industry.
  • Solid understanding of audio, lighting, video, rigging, or staging equipment.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Experience with inventory systems and digital tools (spreadsheets, warehouse management software).
  • A calm, solutions-focused approach when things get busy.
  • Willingness to pitch in when needed — including the occasional evening or weekend.

Why Join

This is your chance to be part of a passionate, professional team that powers unforgettable live experiences. You'll work with premium AV equipment, well-respected clients, and a company that values initiative, teamwork, and technical excellence.

If you're ready to take ownership of a fast-paced, high-impact role in live event production — we'd love to hear from you.

Apply now to join a dynamic AV supplier where precision meets creativity.
