Head of Development – Leeds (Hybrid: 3 Days On Site)


My client is investing heavily in their development capability, expanding far beyond beautifully built, SEO-optimised websites into bold, innovative digital campaigns and bespoke web technologies. What You’ll Be Part Of

  • You will lead a dedicated development team focused on producing high-quality technical solutions. Working closely with the Head of Digital, you’ll help define the direction of the department, ensuring we deliver work that is both technically strong and commercially valuable.
  • You’ll set the standard for best practice, guide and support junior developers, and continuously evolve our processes so we stay ahead of industry trends. You’ll also play a key role in shaping custom builds, driving new capabilities, and ensuring our digital offering continues to grow.


What You’ll Bring (Must have management experience)

  • They are looking for someone with a strong technical background, a problem-solver with creative thinking, and someone who understands both the detail and the bigger picture.
  • You’ll need solid experience across frontend and backend development, particularly with React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and Node.js.
  • You’ll also bring confidence in managing hosting environments and dedicated servers, along with strong communication skills to keep stakeholders informed and aligned.
  • Experience with Git, pipeline tools and standard development cycles is essential.
  • Additional experience with other CMS platforms, advanced frameworks, SEO or performance optimisation is advantageous.
