Lead Planner – Infrastructure / NEC4 / Primavera P6

London (Hybrid) | £85,000 + £6,000 Car Allowance + Bonus + Private Medical + Pension + Travel Expenses

Lead Planning on Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects


We’re looking for an experienced Lead Planner to take ownership of planning and programme management across major UK infrastructure projects. This is a hands-on role where your planning expertise, commercial awareness, and leadership will directly influence project delivery.


What You’ll Do

  • Lead planning activities across NEC4-governed projects, from development through to completion.
  • Develop, maintain, and cost-load robust programmes in Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with resources and project milestones.
  • Manage changes, EOTs, and compensation events in line with NEC4 contract requirements.
  • Produce dashboards and insights for leadership teams using tools such as Power BI.
  • Facilitate collaborative planning workshops with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Conduct risk-based assessments, highlighting potential delivery and H&S impacts.
  • Drive continuous improvement and implement lean planning practices to enhance programme performance.


What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Proven experience in civil engineering or infrastructure planning (highways, rail, utilities, or major civils).
  • Strong knowledge of NEC4 contracts and programme management practices.
  • Hands-on expertise in Primavera P6, including cost-loading and schedule control.
  • Commercial awareness, including experience contributing to delay claims, impact assessments, or compensation events.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in leading workshops and stakeholder engagement.


Desirable:

  • Experience with Power BI or other reporting tools.
  • Exposure to multi-project portfolios or large-scale programme planning.
  • Knowledge of lean planning or continuous improvement methodologies.
