Duties and responsibilities related to the Human Resources Officer role

  • You will assist in the day-to-day operation of HR, including colleague engagement, relations, wellbeing, performance, and absence management.
  • Quickly building rapport with our teams, you will provide advice and support across a variety of job functions.
  • Support the administration of monthly payroll processes, including preparing updates, maintaining accurate colleague records, and liaising with the Payroll team to ensure timely and correct payment.
  • You will be involved in the recruitment of various roles at all levels and across multiple departments within the hotel and offices.
  • Be responsible for HR & Learning related administration in relation to the colleague journey, including onboarding and orientation of new colleagues.
  • Lead and take part in all colleague engagement activities, helping to create a positive and fun culture to promote team spirit and maintain colleague morale.
  • Deliver the ‘Welcome to Hyatt ‘sessions for new starters, ensuring they receive an engaging introduction to the hotel and the Hyatt culture.
  • Coordinate and deliver ongoing training sessions to enhance colleague skills, ensuring compliance with Hyatt Learning and other training programs.
  • Monitor and ensure learning compliance across the hotel, including maintaining accurate records and ensuring that all training requirements are met.
  • Manage and utilise all HR systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Taleo, Fourth, Hyatt Learning).
  • Working hours are generally Monday to Friday, office hours, although you may need to work some evenings and weekends and particularly attend colleague social events.

About You

You will bring proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a hotel or hospitality environment. You will have payroll experience or exposure, along with strong HR generalist knowledge and confidence in delivering short presentations or training sessions.

A sound understanding of UK employment legislation is required, as well as experience conducting interviews and managing employee relations matters.

You will be highly organised, able to prioritise effectively, and maintain exceptional attention to detail. Experience using HR systems, particularly Fourth and PeopleSoft, is advantageous, and strong Microsoft Office skills are essential.

You will bring a confidential, professional, and approachable manner, with excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude.
