Group Accountant

Location: Altrincham (5 days on-site)

Salary: £55,000–£60,000 + onsite parking - Permanent


Robert Half is partnering with a privately owned international group to recruit a Group Accountant for their Altrincham head office. The organisation operates across a diverse range of sectors and continues to pursue growth opportunities globally. The Role

Reporting to the Finance Director, you will work closely with divisional leaders and senior executives, providing high-quality financial information and insight. This is a varied, hands-on role covering all areas of management accounting, reporting and financial control.


Responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts across several group businesses
  • Working with business leaders to provide commercial insight and support decision-making
  • Production of board packs and participation in board meetings over time
  • End-to-end accounting responsibilities including invoice processing, bank reconciliations and reporting
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Tracking profitability by project or contract
  • Supporting assessment of new opportunities and acquisitions
  • Short-term cashflow forecasting
  • Annual budgeting and forecasting with business leaders
  • Year-end accounts preparation in conjunction with external auditors
  • Developing and presenting KPIs to drive performance
  • Gross profit analysis and wider ad-hoc projects as the group continues to grow

About You

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Strong communicator with emotional maturity and a collaborative approach
  • Self-starter comfortable working independently in a hands-on role
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Thrives in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment
