Job description

Deputy Quality Lead – London - £62,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Drive Quality. Develop People. Make a Real Impact.

Our client is looking for a Deputy Quality Lead who combines technical expertise with a passion for developing people. In this hands-on role, you’ll help embed a “Right First Time”, prevention-first culture while mentoring a diverse team and supporting their growth.

Reporting to the Site Quality Manager, you’ll be the quality partner for production—managing non-conformances, embedding corrective actions, and ensuring root cause practices become second nature. You’ll also champion collaboration, inclusivity, and continuous learning, helping every team member feel empowered to contribute.

Why Join?

  • Competitive salary, bonus, car allowance, and excellent benefits
  • Inclusive, supportive culture where diverse perspectives are welcomed
  • Directly shape the quality culture during an exciting transformation
  • Visible impact—your leadership will improve how teams work, learn, and deliver

What You’ll Do

  • Lead daily quality operations and support junior QEs and QCs
  • Own non-conformance management, corrective actions, and RCA (8D, Fishbone, 5 Whys, FMEA)
  • Coach and develop team members to build confidence and capability
  • Collaborate with production, design, supply chain, and projects to embed quality at every stage
  • Support audits and ensure timely, positive closure of actions
  • Contribute to risk planning and readiness for next-generation products
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, inclusivity, and continuous improvement

About You

  • Engineering degree (or equivalent) with strong quality leadership experience
  • Skilled in quality systems and tools (ISO9001 Lead Auditor; Lean Six Sigma Black Belt desirable)
  • Proven mentor and developer of junior staff
  • Experience in zero-defect, highly regulated industries (Automotive, Aerospace, Oil & Gas, Pharma, Food)
  • Collaborative, inquisitive, root-cause-focused problem solver
  • Ideal for a current or former Quality Manager wanting meaningful influence in a deputy role
