This employee-owned planning consultancy is shaping plans for over 150,000 new homes across the UK. Its client base spans master developers, blue-chip companies, landowners, Government bodies, and local authorities. Projects cover a wide geographical spread and present diverse planning challenges, offering variety and scope for professional growth.


The practice champions robust advocacy, collaboration, and consensus-building, ensuring planners work across multiple projects and avoid being pigeonholed. Role Overview

The successful candidate will collaborate with talented teams in masterplanning, urban design, mapping, and graphic communications. The role offers autonomy alongside teamwork, enabling planners to apply creative thinking, problem-solving skills, and technical expertise to deliver outstanding outcomes for a wide range of clients and projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and contributing to strategic and spatial planning projects
  • Preparing and managing planning applications, negotiations, and representations
  • Working closely with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities to secure consents
  • Supporting masterplanning and place-making initiatives
  • Acting as a trusted advisor within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Mentoring junior colleagues and sharing knowledge


Requirements

Applicants should have experience in either the private or public sector, with demonstrable skills in:

  • Preparation and negotiation of development proposals (particularly residential-led and/or commercial/mixed-use applications)
  • Securing planning permissions, conditions, and s106 agreements
  • Policy and plan-making activity
  • Shaping promotion strategies for development projects
  • Coordinating design and engineering outputs within multi-disciplinary teams
