Overview

Our client is seeking a Tribe Business Lead – Platform to shape and deliver the future of a large-scale web and mobile digital ecosystem used by millions of customers globally.

This is a senior leadership role within a commercial digital function, responsible for defining platform strategy, driving delivery outcomes, and leading multiple cross-functional agile squads. You will sit at the intersection of technology, product, and commercial strategy—ensuring digital platforms are reliable, scalable, accessible, and continuously improving.

This role is ideal for a technically strong digital leader who combines strategic vision with hands-on delivery experience and thrives in complex, customer-centric environments.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Strategy & Vision

  • Define and own the vision, roadmap, and outcomes for a large-scale web and mobile platform.
  • Translate business objectives into clear, measurable digital and technical outcomes.
  • Ensure platforms meet performance, accessibility, scalability, and reliability standards.

Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead up to seven agile squads, ensuring delivery is on time, on budget, and delivers measurable value.
  • Own the product backlog and prioritisation process in partnership with Product Owners and Business Analysts.
  • Champion agile ways of working and foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Technology & Architecture

  • Collaborate closely with technology leaders to design modular, cloud-based solutions.
  • Oversee development across cloud platforms (e.g. AWS), microservices, and modern front-end frameworks.
  • Ensure high standards of platform resilience, security, and performance.

Stakeholder & Performance Management

  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across commercial, digital, and technology teams.
  • Monitor and report on tribe performance using product, delivery, and technology metrics.
  • Act as a key point of contact for internal and external partners.

Experience & Skills

Essential

  • Strong background delivering technical and commercial outcomes in complex organisations.
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Cloud platforms (e.g. AWS)
  • Modern web/mobile architectures and microservices
  • Full-stack development environments
  • Agile delivery frameworks
  • Proven ability to manage software delivery from prioritisation through to release.
  • Strong commercial awareness with a data-driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

  • Experience with digital optimisation tools and experimentation frameworks.
  • Experience in travel, aviation, or large consumer-facing digital platforms.
  • Prior leadership of cross-functional teams.
  • Candidates with a strong technical background ready to step into senior leadership will also be considered.
