Position: Legal Experts (J.D.)

Referral Partner: Crossing Hurdles

Type: Hourly contract

Compensation: $100–$110 per hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

Role Responsibilities (Training support will be provided):

• Design complex, real-world legal problems to support training of frontier AI systems
• Create multi-step legal workflows involving court databases, case law research, and regulatory analysis
• Develop detailed evaluation rubrics to assess AI agent performance on legal reasoning tasks
• Analyze AI-generated legal outputs for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to legal standards
• Collaborate asynchronously with other domain experts on AI research initiatives

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a top university in the U.S., Canada, UK, New Zealand, or Australia
• Professional experience in litigation, regulatory work, or legal research
• Familiarity with legal research platforms such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, or CourtListener
• Strong attention to detail and analytical reasoning skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High proficiency in English
