I am seeking a motivated and dynamic Tax Associate (NQ - 1 Year PQE) to join a growing legal team. The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor with a passion for tax law, dedicated to delivering innovative and practical solutions for the firms clients. Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality legal advice on a variety of tax law matters, including corporate tax, VAT, inheritance tax, income tax, and capital gains tax.
- Assist in developing and implementing tax-efficient strategies for a range of clients, from individuals to large-scale enterprises.
- Support corporate transactions by advising on tax-related aspects, including M&A, restructuring, and financing deals.
- Collaborate with other practice groups to deliver integrated solutions tailored to client needs.
- Research and draft legal documentation, memoranda, and reports on complex tax-related issues.
- Stay up-to-date on local, national, and international tax laws and regulatory changes that may impact clients.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure unrivalled client service and satisfaction.
- Aid in the resolution of tax disputes with HMRC and other relevant authorities.
- Actively participate in business development initiatives to promote the firm's tax practice.
Qualifications
- Qualified solicitor with 0–1 year post-qualification experience (NQ - 1 PQE), ideally with some exposure to tax matters.
- Completed relevant training or seat in tax law during your legal education/training contract.
- Strong academic background, with an interest in tax law demonstrated through modules, internships, or work experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters in a clear and concise manner.
- Commercial awareness and a sound understanding of business and its intersection with the law.
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team while maintaining the confidence to take ownership of tasks independently.
- Proficient in time management and capable of meeting deadlines under pressure.

Day-to-Day
- Advising on the tax implications of client activities and transactions.
- Drafting and reviewing key legal documents, letters, and contracts related to tax matters.
- Attending and contributing to team and client meetings, both virtually and in-person.
- Engaging in cross-departmental collaboration to address client challenges holistically.
- Supporting senior associates and partners with larger, more complex cases and projects.
- Conducting research on evolving tax laws and providing updates to the team and clients.
- Actively participating in knowledge-sharing sessions and training to strengthen skills and expertise.
- Responding to client inquiries promptly, maintaining excellent service throughout every interaction.
