Service Charge & Reconciliations Accountant (12-Month FTC)

£45,000 | Central London (Hybrid)


We’re supporting a well-established commercial property business in their search for an experienced Service Charge & Reconciliations Accountant to join the finance team on a fixed-term contract. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys full ownership of budgets, reconciliations, year-end closure and communication with internal stakeholders.


The Role


You’ll be responsible for managing a portfolio of service-chargeable properties, taking ownership of:

  • Preparation of annual service charge budgets, apportionments and on-account calculations
  • Year-end service charge reconciliations, including invoice collation, income/expenditure analysis, journals and accruals
  • Completion of year-end closure and billing of balancing service charges to tenants
  • Regular monitoring of costs and variance analysis against budget
  • Reviewing leases to ensure correct apportionments and coding
  • Liaising with Asset Managers, Building Managers and external Managing Agents
  • Supporting GL maintenance and improving efficiency between finance and operational colleagues


This is an FTC role, so we need someone who can pick things up quickly, work independently and bring best practice and attention to detail from day one.


What We’re Looking For


We’re looking for someone who has:

  • At least 3 years' service charge accounting experience within a commercial property environment
  • Strong Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables, reconciliations)
  • Experience of property management systems (TRACE, TRAMPS, Bluebox or similar)
  • A proactive mindset and the confidence to deal with challenging stakeholders
  • A methodical, organised approach and excellent attention to detail
