Job description
While no two days will be the same, the responsibilities may include:
- Lead and support teams to deliver business change, engagement objectives, and programme benefits aligned with the business case.
- Build and maintain stakeholder relationships, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and adherence to change management processes.
- Plan and schedule delivery activities, maintaining project plans, timelines, and supporting change control processes.
- Monitor and report on progress, managing project controls and producing performance reports for Programme Management Office (PMO) and governance boards.
- Support governance and assurance, enabling effective decision-making, readiness reviews, and compliance with programme standards.
- Produce key documentation and reports, including briefing papers, planning data, and governance materials to support programme performance and accountability.
- Oversee resourcing and financial control, including workforce planning, procurement, commercial activity and budget management within Delegated Financial Authority limits.
- Manage risks and issues, identifying, mitigating, and escalating as appropriate to safeguard delivery outcomes.
Person specification
We have 2 critical Project Delivery roles to fill within the Programme. We are looking for passionate people with the ambition and competence for leading and delivering change at scale.
Essential Criteria
- Previous Project Experience - a proven track record of extensive project delivery within a large multi-hierarchical organisation in an ambiguous environment. (Lead Criteria)
- Leadership - Leading complex pieces of work, establishing effective processes and ways of working, to deliver projects in multi-disciplinary teams whilst working to tight deadlines.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Interpersonal Skills - Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and external partners to deliver business outcomes in a fast-paced, changing environment. Skilled in collaborating across boundaries with strong influencing and challenging capabilities to achieve positive results.
- Planning and Governance - Experience and working knowledge of programme and project planning, risk and governance processes, including reporting and escalation.
- Problem solving – Skills and experience of solving problems, relying on creativity, individual judgement, and expertise to deliver more effective business improvements / solutions.
- Data Analysis – Experience of gathering and analysing information, data, insight and evidence, using analytical skills to inform decisions on complex issues and deliver more effective business solutions.
- Decision making – Working with ambiguity in an environment of uncertainty and continual change. Able to feel comfortable making decisions and setting direction without having the full picture and re-focus as details emerge.
