Job description
At the core of this role, you will deliver community-based approaches to HIV prevention for migrant groups living predominantly in South London. You will be responsible for driving our testing bus to community locations, conducting outreach, testing people for HIV using rapid point of care tests. You will coordinate a team of support workers, coordinate the team rota, manage the site bookings, and operations and administration of the service.
Programme
This role is funded by the Gilead Sciences 'Zeroing In' project and will sit within the HIV Domain at METRO Charity. METRO provide a wide range HIV Prevention, HIV Support and Sexual health services. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a small team and make meaningful connections and impact working with different migrant groups across London.
We provide non judgemental bespoke HIV Prevention and Sexual Health services targeted at marginalised community groups ensuring equity of access for diverse communities of London.
Role
This post will lead a community based mobile HIV testing & information service focusing on providing services to migrants and other minority community groups.
The post will suit someone that is wanting to work out and about in the local community, talking to people about a range of health issues, including their sexual health and HIV. As the project lead you will coordinate a small team of outreach workers using our mobile testing bus to connect with communities in setting such as markets and high streets.
This role requires the ability to drive our mobile clinic, and you must hold a Category B (not B1) driver's license. Our insurance requires that you are aged between 25 and 70 and that you have held a UK, Category B driver's license for 2 years (please do not apply if you can not meet these key requirements).
Main Tasks
1. Lead a small team to run two weekly mobile HIV testing clinics and street based outreach, driving our testing bus. You will provide HIV testing and managing the staff rota.
2. You will manage bookings and scheduling for the mobile clinic, focusing on reaching migrants who are unaware of their HIV status and providing information and support to individuals living with HIV
3. Build strong community connections, tailoring the service to different migrant groups, supporting them by facilitating access to clinical care, sexual health services, GPs, and other healthcare providers.
4. Collect and record data to support monitoring and evaluation. Prepare clear quarterly reports highlighting key performance indicators, trends, challenges, and recommendations for improving the service.

1. Proven organisational skills and demonstrated team leadership.
2. Previous experience in collecting and managing data and producing reports
3. An understanding of HIV/STI Prevention and Support methodologies
4. Understanding of the cultural, religious and societal barriers that may impact the sexual health needs of migrants & other marginalised groups
5. Previous experience in providing Point of Care testing and supporting clients with basic HIV prevention strategies
6. Previous experience working in an outreach setting with clients from diverse backgrounds and ability to support clients by helping them access clinical care and directing them to sexual health services, GPs, and other healthcare providers
