Role: Lettings Assistant


Location: Hainault, Essex


Proper Recruitment are delighted to be working with a respected independent estate agency based in Essex, who are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Lettings Assistant to support their busy lettings department.


This is a full-time, office-based role that’s perfect for someone with a background in lettings or administration, or someone with strong organisational skills looking to grow in the property sector.


Responsibilities:


  • Prepare tenancy agreements, renewal documents, and legal paperwork
  • Coordinate tenant referencing and Right to Rent checks
  • Register deposits and manage compliance with tenancy deposit schemes
  • Maintain accurate property and tenancy records on the CRM system
  • Handle maintenance reports and liaise with contractors to arrange repairs
  • Monitor compliance documentation (e.g. Gas Safety, EICR, EPC)
  • Assist with tenancy check-ins, check-outs, and inventories
  • Support with property marketing (e.g. Uploading details, preparing brochures, ordering boards)
  • Answer phone calls, respond to enquiries, and provide administrative support to the lettings team and Senior Property Manager


Requirements:


  • Previous lettings or administrative experience beneficial
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of lettings compliance preferred (e.g. Right to Rent, deposit protection)
  • Confident IT skills (Microsoft Office, CRM systems like Alto, Reapit, or CFP)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure
  • Positive, proactive attitude and a willingness to learn


Salary:


  • £25,000 per annum
