Fulham FC Foundation (FFCF) are currently seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed person to take up the position of Community Coach.


Reporting directly to our Operations Officers the Community Coach is responsible for delivering high-quality community-based activity across a variety of FFCF programmes and delivering across key boroughs of work such as; Hammersmith & Fulham, Merton, Kingston, Wandsworth, Lambeth and Surrey.


This role involves session planning & delivery, building positive relationships with stakeholders and engaging the local community to encourage participation across FFCF programmes. This is a 40-hour a week role where flexibility is essential, as the role necessitates involvement in supporting the delivery of programme activities as and when required. This role will involve working in the evening and on Saturday mornings.


The successful candidate will be somebody who has prior experience coaching football & sports to children & young people of different experiences. Ideally, they will also have delivered within a school setting and have a good understanding of the aims of club community organisations (CCO’s).  


Fulham FC Foundation will be recruiting 2x Community Coaches, with the typical schedules outline below:

During the term-time, the weekly schedule will look like this. This will change during holiday periods and may also change on a term-to-term or season-by-season basis. Schedules are inclusive of breaks, admin and travel time.


Schedule 1:

Mondays: 11:30am to 4:45pm

Tuesdays: 11:30am to 8:15pm

Wednesdays: 11:30am to 9:15pm

Thursdays: 11:30am to 7pm

Fridays: 10:15am to 9pm

Saturdays: 8:15am to 12noon OR 8:40am to 12:40pm

Sundays: OFF


Schedule 2:

Mondays: 10:30am to 5pm

Tuesdays: 8:30am to 4:45pm

Wednesdays: 8:30am to 4:45pm

Thursdays: 9:45am to 8pm

Fridays: 3pm to 8:30pm

Saturdays: 8:15am to 12noon OR 8:40am to 12:40pm

Sundays: OFF

Job Requirements:

Essential:

Experience:

  • Working in sports.
  • Coaching football to variety of age groups & abilities
  • Coaching multi-sport activities to children & young people.
  • Planning, delivering and reviewing sports sessions.

Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications:

  • UEFA C License or working towards.
  • In-date FA Emergency First Aid & Safeguarding Children certificate.
  • Demonstrable levels of numeracy & literacy equivalent to GCSE (A* to C or 9 to 4).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to communicate with a diverse range of people (participants, coaches, stakeholders) in small or large groups.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

Experience:

  • Coaching football to adults.
  • Working at a Club Community Organisation (CCO).
  • Working in the charitable sector.
  • Championing opportunities from members of underrepresented groups.

Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications:

  • UEFA B License or higher.
  • Level 2 Multi-Sports Qualification
  • Level 3 Certificate in Supporting the Delivery of Physical Education and School Sport.
  • Hold a HLTA qualification or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Views/Salesforce.


Job Responsibilities

Session Delivery

  • Plan, organise and deliver engaging sports sessions for a variety of age groups and ability levels.
  • Deliver across a variety of FFCF programmes including (not limited to) Skills Club, Soccer Schools, Development Centres Primary Education, Kicks, Health & Wellbeing.
  •  Ensuring a fun, safe and inclusive environment is created and maintained for all participants.
  • Where appropriate, supervise and manage activities as the venue’s head coach
  •  As a positive role model, support & guide both colleagues and participants in helping to develop their skills and confidence.

Community Engagement

  • Actively engaged with the local community with a specific focus of promoting FFCF programmes to increase participation.
  • Build positive relationships with participants to encourage transitions between FFCF programmes.
  • Foster a positive relationship between FFCF and key stakeholders.
  • When required, deliver across promotional activities and events to increase awareness and participation across FFCF.

Programme Development

  • Assist in the development and improvement of FFCF programmes, by providing constructive feedback, idea sharing and positive collaboration with programme leads.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to progress/transition participants from one FFCF programme to another.
  • Support the collection of participant and parent feedback to support the ongoing development of our activities.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with FFCF health and safety policies.
  • Maintaining all necessary equipment and ensuring risk assessments are reviewed.
